Bancroft Hires Another Veteran, Two Architectural Professionals

October 30, 2013

Bancroft Architects + Engineers, a Chicago-based service-disabled Veteran owned small business, is pleased to announce the addition of another Senior Designer and two license-track Intern Architects to their Elk Grove design studio.

Mitra Precht, Bancroft’s newest Senior Architectural Designer, brings more than 20 years of architectural design experience to Bancroft, with an extensive background in bringing a wide range of highly-complex projects from concept through construction. Her specialty is the efficient use of space and the integration of leading-edge technologies for resource conservation. Among her noteworthy projects are multiple semiconductor laboratories, bio-diesel laboratories, and chemical plants. “Mitra is a sensational addition to our architectural team,” said Bancroft’s Lead Architect. “A true impact player, her comprehensive experience will contribute to project success from day one.”

A six-year Air Force Veteran, Ricky Williams recently earned his Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago. The former Aircraft Engine Mechanic spent his military career turning wrenches on the B-1 Bomber at air bases around the world. He was the top graduate at the Air Force’s professional training course for mechanics. “His mechanical background gives Ricky the ability to take an engineering approach to his design concepts. His background living on and around airfields makes him a good fit in our aviation practice and give him great perspective understanding end-user’s needs. He’s one of those rare people who had a career before he entered the architectural field,” said Martin Anderson, Bancroft’s Lead Engineer.

Chicago-native John Sohn earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago. A seasoned architectural intern, John interned at Studio Berlin in Germany before accepting the position at Bancroft. “We are impressed by John’s creativity and his application of international best practices in his portfolio,” said Mika.

Paul Jenkins, President and CEO of Bancroft Architects + Engineers, doesn’t hide his enthusiasm for these latest additions to the growing team of design professionals. “From the time we started the company, I made a commitment to recruit and hire only the best professionals. Mitra, Ricky, and John accelerate us on that path. Each will make an enormous contribution to our clients’ projects. This is a great day for Bancroft Architects + Engineers with the addition of another wave of intellectual and creative firepower.”

The three design professionals joined the Bancroft team in mid-October.
