HARLSTON PROMOTED TO DIRECTOR OF ARCHITECTURE

Ya Vaughn Harlston, AIA, was this month promoted to the position of Director of Architecture for Bancroft Architects + Engineers.  Harlston, a licensed architect was chosen from a pool of more than 20 architects that had been considered for the position.  In making the announcement, Crotan Zakarija, Bancroft’s Vice President for Architecture had this to say, “Ya Vaughn is a sensational architect.  Her vision, her creativity, her skills, and her expertise are all tremendous assets to Bancroft and to our architectural team.  On top of that, she is a superb communicator.  She is a compassionate and thoughtful listener who has the rare ability to effectively articulate concepts to clients, peers, and the designers she mentors.  The bottom line is that Ya Vaughn is a rising star in our field.  She combines natural talent, hard work, and a steady demeanor that inspires confidence.  I am pleased she has accepted the promotion.”

Harlston earned her undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Illinois Chicago, and her Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan.  In addition to being licensed in Illinois and Indiana, she is also NCARB certified and is a LEED certified professional.
