Project Manager Responsibilities: 

  • Lead a project team of architects and engineers in the development and preparation of design and construction documents, including comprehensive sets of architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Serve as primary point of contact with client during all phases of project.
  • Communicate with internal team, consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure coordination of project requirements and collaborate as necessary.
  • Establish and coordinate consultant scope of work and negotiate fees.
  • Lead the process of developing designs and problem solving.
  • Assist in resolution of complex technical/design issues and provide guidance to team and consultants.
  • Assist in review of Opinions of Probable Costs prepared by others.
  • Ensure that established standards for document production and review are followed by design team.
  • Oversee the verification of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) measures of the technical aspects of the project in order to maintain the standards expected.
  • Review documents (drawings, specifications, etc.) prior to every submittal.
  • Keep Executive Staff informed of progress, issues and/or need for assistance to insure projects stay aligned with their goals.
  • Organize and facilitate team efforts and client meetings.
  • Confer with clients, as assigned, to identify requirements and develop statements of program.
  • Mentor junior staff.
  • Participate in marketing efforts, assist in preparation of marketing materials and client interviews, as required.
  • Assist in developing relationships, write proposals, engage in interviews, and meet with potential and current clients.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities with clients.
  • Lead the process of developing designs and problem solving.
  • Provide project management for selected assigned projects from preliminary planning through construction administration.
  • Assist in the development of project programs, schematic design, design development and construction documents and construction administration as needed.
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Create and Monitor project budgets.
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Adjust schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change.
  • Maintain project financial records and be responsible for the proper and timely client invoicing of assigned projects.
  • Participate in field work which includes measurements and documentation of existing conditions.
  • Continuously look for opportunities for organization and team efficiency and quality improvement.
  • Perform risk management to minimize potential risks.
  • Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
  • Delegate tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them.
  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Serve as a point of contact for teams to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Prepare status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
  • Establish effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
  • Facilitate change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
  • Obtain customer acceptance of project deliverables.
  • Manage customer satisfaction both during and after the project period.
  • Conduct post-project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Some Travel required.

  • Professional registration (such as PE [professional engineer], RA/AIA [registered architect], PMP [Project Management Professional]) a plus
